Who We Are

We are the faces
behind these services

Long appreciated only as a commercial source of oysters, oyster reefs are now acknowledged for the other services they provide — enhancing water quality, stabilizing shorelines. CV Carbon helps develop a framework to assess the value of those services.

Meet the Team

A biologist, an oysterman, and an engineer

Restoration only works where the science, the water, and the build all hold up. The three disciplines this company runs on are the three people below.

Jeff Pinsky, Fisheries Ecologist at CV Carbon

Jeff Pinsky

Fisheries Ecologist

Jeff Pinsky is a fisheries ecologist with 15 years of experience designing, implementing, and tracking the success of ecosystem restoration projects in both aquatic and marine settings. He is an expert in performing ecological assessments, environmental compliance tasks, and implementing beneficial projects including oyster reef restoration, wetland restoration, seagrass restoration, riverine restoration, and beach and dune restoration.

From 2007 to 2023, Jeff worked as a marine biologist for the federal government, including a position with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Galveston Laboratory as a biological technician. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University at Galveston in 2005.
